Interiors: Materials (Spring/Summer 2011)
Basic and honest is the mantra, as the focus settles on wood, basic yarns, wool, cotton, untreated
metals and simply glazed ceramics seen in tone-on-tone colour-blocking in bright colours and on
simple surfaces.
Recognisable objects are recycled and given new meaning and function. Inventive uses for familiar
materials are amusing and helpful. Old-school techniques, structures and patterns, such as piqué,
seersucker, polka dots and stripes, blend with new-school references to recycling and socioenvironmental consciousness.
